Curriculum vitae

Ansgar Zerfass, Dr., is Professor of Communication Management at the University of Leipzig, the leading institution for communication studies in Germany (according to the April 2006 ranking by Handelsblatt Karriere). Prior to this, he worked in management positions at various companies and institutions for more than ten years, and was a honorary lecturer (Privatdozent) at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, Germany. Ansgar Zerfass holds a university degree and doctorate in business administration and a postdoctoral lecture qualification (Habilitation) in communication science. He has received several awards both for his academic work and his communication campaigns, among them the Ludwig-Schunk-Award for economic science, the German Public Relations Award and the German Multimedia Award. Recently, he was elected “PR Head of the year 2005" by the German Public Relations Association (DPRG). Ansgar Zerfass is author and editor of 14 books and numerous articles on corporate communications and interactive communication, including the forthcoming “Handbook of Corporate Communication” (in German). Ansgar Zerfass is engaged in various professional organizations and academic bodies on a national and international level, e. g. as member of the board of directors of EUPRERA, the European Public Relations Education and Research Association.
